New Year’s Resolution: Lose the Holiday Weight

January 13th, 2012 by Frank Pedeflous

ultrasonic cleaning gives you more time to lose weight

Ultrasonic cleaning gives you more “free time” to lose those extra holiday pounds.

Every year during the holiday season, millions of Americans indulge in delicious holiday feasts, drinks, desserts and more. The holidays are definitely a time to celebrate and have fun, even if it means gaining a few extra pounds. If your New Year’s resolution is to lose that holiday weight, then we are about to reveal the key for your success: ultrasonic technology.

We’re not talking about a crazy ultrasonic infomercial product you’ll see at 2:30 in the morning claiming it can eliminate 30 pounds of fat in four days. We are simply talking about ultrasonic technology for industrial applications involving cleaning. So how can an ultrasonic machine help you lose that extra holiday weight?

Implementing ultrasonic cleaning capabilities will generally eliminate 80% of your usual cleaning time typically done by hand with specialized tools. This newly-gained “free-time” will allow you to exercise, go to the gym, or take a nice walk. That’s the secret to losing weight! Ultrasound cleans for you, giving you the time to focus on your New Year’s resolution. It’s that simple!

An ultrasonic industrial parts washer reduces cleaning costs and money in any industry it is used in. As Jay Leno has discovered, even the toughest automotive or industrial parts are instantly cleaned and ready to be installed. Items such as carburetors are cleaned five times faster, and in as little as 15 minutes! With traditional hand cleaning methods this process can take well over an hour, and usually with one or more employees. Forget about the need to supervise them… the ultrasonic unit virtually does everything on its own.

If you have always claimed there wasn’t enough time to exercise or work out and your resolution is to lose your holiday weight, then there’s no more excuses! An ultrasonic industrial parts cleaner opens up your day by saving you time (and money) during critical cleaning processes. For more information, we invite you to check out www.Omegasonics.com or give our team of ultrasonic cleaning experts a call toll-free at (888) 726-3130.

May you, your company, and your family have a happy and healthy 2012.

Ultrasonic Cleaning’s Growing Contribution to Oil Exploration

September 21st, 2011 by Frank Pedeflous

High gas prices are often a touchy subject for most people, especially those who drive gas-guzzlers. Can you believe the price to fill up your car these days! A barrel of oil is over $90 this week. The gasoline used to fill up your car comes from thousands of oil rigs and offshore platforms.  Primarily, Americans get most of their oil from the Canadian landscape, not from the Middle East as most people believe.

ultrasonic cleaning on oil rigs

Over $1 million dollars is spent each year just on the research, evaluation, and repair of damaged drilling parts.

Offshore oil rigs are similar in construction despite being located in different parts of the world. Since access to them is limited, drilling equipment is prone to high productivity loss if maintenance cannot be performed in a timely manner. Significant downtime can impact output, which can, of course, cause oil prices to rise. Thankfully, there are measures that oil rigs can take to avoid, or at least limit, many unnecessary costs.

One of these measures involves the use of ultrasonic cleaning. The functionality of an ultrasonic cleaning machine is endless when it is used to clean components used on an oil rig drilling machine in the middle of the ocean. The two primary causes of productivity loss and machine maintenance are fatigue and corrosion to metals due to high pressures of deep-ocean drilling. Over a million dollars each year is spent on research, evaluation and repairs for damaged drilling parts. In addition, costs are always magnified on an oil rig because everything must be done self-sufficiently on the platform.

Having a portable ultrasonic cleaning unit on board an oil platform can instantly (and significantly) reduce the amount of time, labor, and cost spent on maintenance and repairs. In most cases, in order to fix something, it must be cleaned first. However, cleaning supplies must be limited on off shore platforms, and solvent chemicals are virtually extinct in order to protect the ocean.

That’s way ultrasound is such an attractive option in these types of situations. Ultrasonic cleaning eliminates unnecessary costs associated with chemical cleaning products because it only uses soap and water. In other words…ultrasonic cleaners do all of the work for you! Research has shown that using ultrasonic technology can also extend parts such as oil rig cooling systems by a factor of 6-8 times.

If enough off shore platforms begin to use ultrasonic cleaning technology to lower their costs… who knows, maybe the price to fill up you car won’t be so high next time!

Why Ultrasonic Cleaning is crucial for Food and Drug Companies

May 16th, 2011 by Frank Pedeflous

When it comes to the cleaning of parts and equipment used to process or dispense food, ultrasonic technology meets and exceeds the toughest of standards. In the food and drug industry, as you can imagine, inspectors must be extremely thorough. Using ultrasound will more than please even the most meticulous inspectors, reduce your labor overhead, and increase your bottom line.

Food and Drug Industry

Companies such as Anheuser-Busch and Natural Alternatives are using Omegasonics’ machines to ultrasonically clean processing and dispensing equipment.

Ultrasound doesn’t use any harsh chemicals so you don’t have to worry about putting toxic substances near food, supplements and pharmaceutical items. Ultrasonic tanks generally use water-based soaps or just water alone to easily and effectively remove dirt, scale minerals, grime, oils and other residues from most surfaces. Filler valves, vitamin molds and dispensing equipment to name a few are the more common items being cleaned with precision ultrasonic cleaning systems in the food industry.

In an industry with a wide range of products that need to be cleaned, ultrasonic machines are built to accommodate your particular work area. Ultrasonic cleaning units can also be customized to meet your specific needs, size, power and other specifications. By using only a variety of mild solutions including citric acid and water, ultrasound is able to meticulously and safely remove dirt, scale minerals, grime, oil and other resides from virtually any surface without exposing employees or your product to unsafe chemicals.

Our friend, Dave Pierson formerly of from Pepsi Bottling Group had this to say about his experience with ultrasound machine, “The ultrasonic cleaners are working great! The precision parts in our fillers have never been cleaner or rebuilt as well!”

Companies all across the nation such as Anheuser-Busch and Natural Alternatives are all using Omegasonics’ machines to clean ultrasonically in the medical, food and drug industry!

Ultrasonic Cleaning Test Lab for Industrial Parts Washing

March 10th, 2011 by Frank Pedeflous

At Omegasonics, we think of our ultrasonic cleaning testing lab like a “CSI crime scene lab” and even refer to ourselves as “chemistry detectives”. We have a large library of ultrasonic cleaning protocols for a variety of industrial parts, however, if we get a call regarding an item that we’ve never tested before, a client can send us their dirty and contaminated parts. We’ll test different combinations of factors in different chemistries to find the most effective ultrasonic cleaning recipe.
